Be at Work

Every person in a team acts on what they expect from their manager, their colleagues and the work. When those expectations miss, people look stubborn, slow or difficult. Be at Work helps managers and teams see what each person expects, try small changes and keep a shared understanding up to date.

The idea we are testing

1Describe the momentA manager describes what happened in a meeting, an email or a missed deadline. No labels and no personality types.
2Two interpretations and a testThe Companion offers two interpretations of what the person may expect and notice, and one small change that would tell them apart.
3Shared only when the person choosesEach person can write a one-page 'how I work best', and decides who sees it.

Where it is now

There is nothing to try yet. We are shaping it with the people it is for, and will show it once it works.

When it is ready, it graduates into a product or service.

Who it is for

Managers

Describe a moment and get interpretations, a question and something to try, instead of a label.

Teams

See where expectations between people miss, without looking for someone to blame.

HR and occupational health

Adjustments that follow from understanding the person, with Ricardo available for consultation when judgement matters.

Taking part

We are looking for two or three small organisations willing to try it with one team for twelve weeks. Ricardo works alongside the managers throughout.
