My son was recently lucky to be assessed by Ricardo Almeida for his psychological assessment for his EHCP application. He had spent some time talking to my son (I don't know how long but I would guess maybe an hr to and hr and a half) and the SENCO and then he contacted me, to speak to ask me questions about my son. From the very start of the conversation, I was genuinely surprised about the level of detail and explanation that he had managed to get my son to share. My son is very wary of people he does not know, so to have this impact, he must have really made me son feel comfortable, trusting and supported for him to feel able to share so much. Ricardo began asking me questions and you could tell by the way he responded, to my responses, that he really understood my son. He explained in detail every aspect of his behaviours, learning patterns and what would help him. I genuinely cried because noone had ever understood my son so well and to be able to accurately assess him in such detail, after such a short period time was a genuine miracle. It has taken me years to build up a correct understanding of my son and more years trying to get his schools to understand him, so for someone to not only understand him with such accuracy, but also accurately assess the level and style of help required to help my son, was truly overwhelming. I could not recommend Ricardo enough, any child or person to be assessed by him, or gain help from him in any way, is a very privileged person. I never knew such skillful people existed and feel so very lucky and grateful.
